Pragmatics Lecture – Exploring the impacts of intervention through the lens of contemporary practice
About this course
This 1 hour lunchtime lecture with Q and As will explore pragmatics and the impacts of pragmatic intervention through the lens of contemporary practice, from early years through to adulthood.
The pragmatics literature can be overwhelming, so in this lecture Dr Wendy Rinaldi suggests a framework to enable a clearer understanding, and the importance of developing a critical eye when considering published assessments and interventions.
The focus will be on the lesser known aspects of pragmatics – inference and cohesion (organisation of ideas for communication).
Wendy will include the sharing of her latest research with young children and a research opportunity for you, should you wish to take part.
