About this course
The area of wellbeing has gained attention and focus within health care due to the high incidence of burnout over the past decade, but this has been an increasing concern since the COVID-19 pandemic. A 2023 systematic review concluded that workplace interventions to improve wellbeing are an effective way to reduce burnout and perceived stress for nurses, physicians and AHPs. The results also showed significant improvements in work engagement, quality of life and resilience.
This course will outline the scientific research base behind the most effective interventions that support both personal and workplace wellbeing drawing on recent findings from the fields of Positive Psychology and Neuroscience. It will include information to educate about wellbeing foundations that underpin an individual’s ability to thrive as well as interactive reflection tasks and activities to help integrate the learning and establish ongoing, supportive wellbeing practices.
