Clinical Management of Childhood Apraxia of Speech
About this course
Following the RCSLT Position Paper (2024) on Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), this new, one-day course, will be delivered by Dr Pam Williams. It will provide a theoretical update and look at assessment protocols, specific assessment tools, differential diagnosis and evidence-based intervention approaches.
Case study illustrations will help you select assessment tools including DEAP, NDP3 Assessment and DEMSS (Dynamic Evaluation of Motor Skill). They will also help you choose the most appropriate intervention approaches specifically for individual clients.
Evidence-based intervention approaches reviewed in the course will include:
• Dynamic Temporal & Tactile Cueing (DTTC);
• Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST);
• Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3)
Issues of service delivery will also be explored.
